I remember when my sister got married a few years ago, at the reception an elder was running the bar and only allowing one plastic cup of beer per person. When my cousins husband, a non-jw, had the cheek to ask for another the elder said "we have all had a drink there is no need to have too many we are here for a wedding not to get drunk" can you believe that! they spoke to him as if he was an alcoholic!
He left soon after and went to the nearest pub.

I agree with jeannie here, I do hope you get a reply but if you do I can only see it misquoting scriptures to try and justify why they break up loving families.

i have been out of the jws officially for over 3 years now, since disassociating.
after researching the history of the organization and reading the bible (without) the watchtower, i am now a christian.
i am just curious what happens to most ex-jws as far as their beliefs go, after they leave the organization.

i hated service, hated getting up early, hated wearing dresses/skirts,hated bugging people early on the weekend, hated "preparing" for service (all i did was read the little blurb on the inside of the awake lol) hated being grouped with elder ihatecoffeebreaks and sister letsdoonemoredooreventhoughits12.......one day brother ihatecoffeebreaks asked me why my time was dropping in service and i said "because i hate service" ( i mean i was taught to be honest right?
I hated it. Prancing round on a sat/sun with a briefcase, suit on and polished shoes, trying to charge people for a large piece of toilet paper!
jws tell their flock that they are superior to "worldly ones".

A "worldly person" will listen to an argument/discussion on religious beliefs, give their opinion and answer questions about their opinion and listen to constructive criticism about their opinion.
A "jw" will not listen to an argument/discussion on other peoples religious beliefs, will only discuss their beliefs, will only answer questions that they feel like answering and ignore all the rest, and if anyone should criticize their beliefs they will tell them that they will die a horrible death of fire, eyes gouged out, head cut of etc...etc...at Armageddon.
lucifer's best friend moved away sunday for at least 5 months, but she has an open ticket so if she doen't like it she can come home any time.
